December Sip&Paint
with Delma Soult Friday, December 13, 2024 4:30 - 6:30 PM Madrone Arts' Sip & Paint events are designed for individuals in need of an extra creative confidence booster. Join this unique painting class and follow along with our step-by-step instructions by two of our experienced Madrone artists, or embrace your free-spirit and let your creativity soar! No experience is needed - just positive vibes and an open mind. You might just surprise yourself by discovering that you have an inner Frida or Van Gogh. With experienced artists as your guide, you and your friends may go home with a masterpiece to hang on your wall. You’ll meet new people, enjoy great conversation and have fun in a high-spirited 2-hour painting class with all materials provided, including canvas, paints, brushes, and aprons. All you need to do is show up, bring your own drink, and get ready to create at this local and fun Sip & Paint event! $45 Admission Includes: 1 Seat (adults only), Canvas, Paint & Instruction. Light Snacks will be provided. Bring your own Beverage.
Tiny Treasures
with Doreen Maller Sunday, December 15, 2024 1:00 - 4:00 PM In this class you will learn to fold a tiny magical eight page book from a single sheet of paper. With a theme of your choice you can share a poem, a story, a recipe, a secret! These tiny books are fun to make and make marvelous gifts. What this book becomes is in your capable hands. After we have all created a tiny book or two, the group will share their stories and reflect on the experience. Feel free to bring your own paper, prepainted or not. Paper, pens, paint, pencils will be provided for all participants. This event is open to kids over12 and adults. All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. About the Artist Doreen Maller is a fiber and paper artist and author, a founding member of the Madrone Artist Coop and a workshop leader. She has brought this workshop to participants all over the country and even taught it over zoom during the pandemic. She loves the experience of guiding others through the creative process and the shifts and transitions that happen in a group art experience.
Winter Solstice Soundbath
with Jaimie Maher Saturday, December 21, 2024 5:30 - 7:00 PM Join us for a Winter Solstice “Sound Bath” gathering at Madrone Arts for an evening of reflection and renewal. As the longest night of the year gives way to the promise of longer days, we are called to reflect, rest, and nurture the seeds of growth for the year ahead. Jaimie Maher will lead the group through a guided meditation, playing a variety of crystal bowls, gongs and bells to create a room-filling “Sound Bath.” During the evening, we will sip warm herbal tea crafted to support and rejuvenate our bodies and souls as we celebrate this sacred seasonal shift. What dreams will you bring to life? What intentions will you cultivate? This is a time for stillness, inward exploration, and connection with the cycles of nature. This event will be held in the Madrone Gallery Annex. Attendees are asked to bring yoga mats. Blankets are also strongly suggested as the gallery is cool during the evenings. Attendees must be 18 or older.

Winter Knitting at Madrone
with Rhonda Rungsitiyakorn Saturday, January 11, 2025 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM Madrone Arts is pleased to host its winter knitting series of four Saturday sessions (January 11, 18, 25 and February 1). The class is suitable for those with no experience to knitters with intermediate skills. In this class, inexperienced and beginning students will learn to knit and purl, and how to cast on and cast off. These four techniques are very powerful and will let students design and make beautiful items of their own choosing. Instruction for more experienced students may be personalized according to skill level. Time permitting, students may become familiar with how to read patterns. Practice materials will be provided, but students will be expected to purchase materials for their personal projects. The instructor will assist in selecting a design and identifying materials that will work best for personal student projects. By the end of this short workshop, students will be able to knit some fun and basic items. About the Artist Rhonda Rungsitiyakorn has taught knitting classes for adults at Sharon Art Studio in SF. She is a lifelong knitter and is happy to share her skills with you. Rhonda says that students look forward to her classes as a time to relax and feel peaceful.
Art in Community: Free Art Classes for South Coast Seniors

With experienced artists as your guide, you will be able to create a work of art with step-by-step instructions while meeting new people, enjoying great conversation and having fun in a high-spirited 2.5-hour art class. Canvas, paints, brushes, and aprons will be provided for all participants. Preregister to secure your seat!
